Soft Computing

I joined Soft Computing as a Trainee Engineer in May 2006 for a 6-months internship, I was thrilled and I weaved close bounds with the company that I stayed in it for the following 2 years.

I have been through several positions: Trainee Engineer, IT Software Engineer and IT Consultant. I participate in several major projects internally and also as a contract-based in an international insurance company.

At the beginning, I worked in the R&D department in a 4-month experimentation of the EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) product Microsoft Biztalk; I realised a pilot project for training quickly new specialists in case of emergence of new Biztalk projects.

Then during 7 months, in the Internal Projects department, I participated in the realisation of a large website of property profitability calculation for the Palatine Bank as major developer in Microsoft .Net technology.

Due to its success, we started a new project of 7 months for the Automobile manufacturer Peugeot with the same technology in order to develop an intranet website for managing the loan of equipment.

Back in the R&D department at the request of the manager, I proceeded in the deep investigation and study of a new SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) product, called “Centrasite Governance Edition”, and then, the set up of trainings.

Due to the possible emergence of opportunity in France, I analyzed  and experimented a new software of MDM (Master Data Management), “Orchestra Networks EBX.Platform” whose I received a 3-day training course.

Finally, I was sent on a contract-based for a very large Italian insurance company “Generali” for an initial period of 2 months in order to realise a daring and experimental project ; this was such a success that the project has been extended to the next 4 months.

This experience was particularly interesting due to its unique aspect because we were reporting directly to a board member. The project was managed with SCRUM from the AGILE methodologies; reinforcing the leeway and reactivity needed to this kind of project.

We were a two sided team, functional and technical united by the singular character of this project in the insurance world usually so formalised. Our mission was to bring a community website in order to connect all the insurance representatives and allowing them to communicate, help each other and empower themselves through a common knowledge base.

On the technical part, there were one project manager and I was one of the 3 developers. As time goes by, very naturally and spontaneously, the project manager delegates me more responsibilities and allowed me to assist other developers in their task.

After the release of a first version, considered as a success, we continued the project in several improvement.

At the beginning of 2008, my department manager at Soft Computing gave me his full support when I told him about my project of Master of Business in Australia; after handing over my current projects, I resigned in September 2008 for commencing my long-standing project.

Centrapel (French ISP Hotline)

With more than 1000 employees, Centrapel is the hotline of “Free”, the second largest ISP in France.

I joined this company in November 2005 (during the second year of my bachelor) as a Multimedia Helpdesk on a part-time basis, during weekends and public holidays, mainly for financing my studies.

I also receive a 3 week training on the infrastructure, and software used in the company, and on communication technics.

Despite working 10 hours a day, I particularly enjoyed this job for assistance part where teaching skills and patience are required for resolving all kind of issues.

However, I resigned from the company at the end of the academic year in order to find a 6 month full-time internship in a company more in line with my career objectives.

IMC (InfoMedia Communication)

Between the first and second year of my bachelor, I looked for a 6 month internship. The difficulty lies in the fact that, I did not have any diploma at this time (only my 12-year degree), companies did not have any proof of our skills and I had only eager to show my potential and value to a future employer.

In May 2004, I obtained a job at InfoMedia Communication, in the computer branch of a publishing house, located in Paris, as an “IT Software Engineer”.

I have been able to participate in several projects, where I had the chance to share my point of view, my ideas and put into practice my knowledge through concrete realisations.

The major project was the creation of an automated system for generating the layout in PDF of a famous historical French dictionary “Le Littré”. I concretely realized and developed several parts of this system. This dictionary got published in December 2004 and for thanking me, the CEO decided to add my name in the publishing team.

At the end of the internship, the company proposed a commitment to hire me at the end of my studies (presupposed, 4 years after).
